Wife: Rattling Track (Esther Wind Woman

 

The father of Abraham Black Shield was the Blackfoot/Sihasapa headman Wakacanka Sapa, who signed the 1868 treaty. His wife was Rattling Track, also known as Esther Wind Woman, the daughter of Red Hair/Elk Head, the keeper of the Sacred Buffalo Calf Pipe. Black Shield was killed at Wounded Knee in 1890.
